Australia recognises outstanding caravan industry contributors
The Caravan Industry Association of Australia announced with winners of its annual awards at the 2022 edition of its National Conference. The Caravan Industry Awards are designed to recognise outstanding contribution to the caravanning sector in Australia and they were handed out in front of a 400-strong crowd on 1 April at what was the 30th anniversary edition of the National Conference.
The most prestigious award of the evening was the Eric Hayman Award for Excellence, which recognises extremely influential and hardworking industry leaders who have made a positive impact over the years. The worthy recipient was Chris Goddard (pictured above, centre), recognised for his role in the merger of CRVA and RVMAA and his continued efforts in making sure the voice of manufacturing is strongly heard on the national agenda.
Meanwhile, Chris Johnson picked up the Richard Davis OAM Award for his selfless sacrifice of personal returns through his business in favour of his unwavering commitment to see manufacturing compliance improve through the oversight of RVMAP maturation, development of invaluable industry technical tools, and establishment of strong Federal Government interaction.
The Gerry Ryan OAM Award for Innovation was received by newBook for its self-service kiosks and cloud based key dispensers, while Andrew Hewitt of BIG4 Gold Coast Holiday Park won the Apollo Future Leaders Award, which recognises dedication and outstanding achievements from the industry’s up-and-comers.
Elsewhere, Blye Sky Caravans picked up People’s Choice Manufacturer of the Year and BIG4 Great Lakes at Forster Tuncurry won People’s Choice Caravan Park of the Year.
