Big Agnes gears up for growth with product development hires

American camping and outdoor brand Big Agnes has made several new hires in its product development and sourcing teams as it aims towards future growth. Now in its 20th year of operation, the company has appointed Bryan Davis, Leanna Thompson and Monica Welcker to its product development team, while Tim Leroy joins the sourcing team.

Bill Gambler, co-founder and president of Big Agnes, said: “We’re thrilled to add such a talented and creative group of industry veterans to our product development and sourcing team. Their combined experience across a variety of industries and product categories will absolutely help us push innovative design and produce award-winning gear.”

Bryan Davis will be the company’s new director of product design and development has more than 30 years of experience in the field, specifically within the snow sports and outdoor arenas. Most recently, Bryan was a hard good designed at Burton Snowboards, and in his new role with Big Agnes, he will be leading the company’s team of designers and collaborating with development and sourcing teams to maintain its positioning within the market.

Leanna Thompson has been hired as senior product designer and has a degree in mechanical engineering as well as a background in hard goods design – previously working for Black Diamond and Blue Ice.

Monica Welcker also joins as a senior product designer and has previously worked for Ruffwear designing outdoor adventure products for dogs, including packs, harnesses, outerwear and accessories.

Lastly, Tim Leroy is the new manager of quality, compliance and sustainability at Big Agnes and has more than 12 years of experience. Tim previously managed quality and social compliance for PetSmart, Inc., and, most recently, Smartwool. Big Agnes is excited to leverage Leroy’s experience to continually enhance the brand’s focus on quality and sustainability.
