Carthago reveals motorhome line-up for 2022

German motorhome expert Carthago has revealed the additions and revamps to its range for the 2022 caravanning season offering more choice and more comfort to all its customers. The 2022 range was unveiled to journalists during an online press conference from the recently-renovated Carthago headquarters in Aulendorf, Germany.

The big highlight of the announcement was a new generation of the chic c-line motorhomes featuring completely revamped interiors that now benefit from new finishes including light, glossy ivory, golden acacia wood, linea classica and wild pear furniture décor. As well as new interior stylings, the furniture architecture of this popular motorhome has also undergone radical change in order to enhance living space and also storage. The L-shaped lounge has improved geometry, the curved and raised kitchen worktop provides additional integrated storage, while the bedrooms feature more harmonious and fluid shapes as well as convex overhead storage cabinets and open shelves as corner connectors. All new chic c-line models come with a premium two 2.0 XL main cabin door as standard with double locking for security and are available on either Fiat Ducato or Mercedes Sprinter base vehicle with AL-KO low frames and tandem rear axles.

The lightweight motorhome in the Carthago range will live up to its reputation even more in 2022, with the new models having dropped 20kg overall in weight, without compromising on quality or stability. The two coachbuilt models (T 145 BH H and T 148 LE H) both have especially spacious lounges and seating areas and can be reduced even further in weight with the added extra of aluminium wheels and lithium-ion on-board battery. The Carthago c-tourer A-Class can now be even more exclusive and individual with the new optional designer package, which consists of the exclusive Carthago full LED front headlights, fog lights with chrome applications, the exterior line extended exterior decoration and the “Liner” engine hood design.

The top of the range models of the Carthago Liner class are going into the new year with some meticulous upgrades. The new Safetyluxe XL main cabin door sets standards. It is even more elegant, secure and practical. Impressive characteristics are the particularly extensive passage width and the extra-strong and stable construction. The luxury main cabin door package promises to provide security and operational comfort at the highest level: extra-quiet electric soft closing mechanism, keyless access system via RFID-Chip, electric door opening support and additional LED lighting for the ‘coming & leaving home’ function. In the living area, the revised showers have made showering even more enjoyable. The new shelves are practical and the shower trays are elegant, as are the revised corner pillars in high gloss black. 

Basic vehicle

Carthago has made significant efforts to boost the base vehicle offerings on its new motorhomes for 2022. The Fiat Ducato benefits from the new “Multi-jet 3“ engine generation with a capacity of 2.2 l. It is compliant with the Euro 6d and Euro VI-E emissions levels. It also has electric power steering, a comprehensively revised dashboard, additional assistance systems and optional LED headlights. Every Carthago now has a manual air conditioning system, passenger airbag, cruise control and start-stop system as standard. Carthago has bundled attractive extras such as a digital instrument cluster, a multifunctional leather steering wheel and a multimedia system including navigation and motorhome route guidance into an Infotainment package. Motorhomes based on the Iveco Daily benefit from engines with Euro VI-E emission levels as well as new options. The main focus is on the new, electrically controlled Air Pro suspension with sensor controlled CDC shock absorbers with variable damping force at the rear axle and the Iveco Driver Pal voice control via Amazon Alexa.
