Dutch camping show to feature sustainability award

Dutch camping and caravanning show Kampeer & Caravan Jaarbeurs will feature a sustainability award for the first time at its 2022 edition when it takes place from 5 to 9 October. The show, which takes place in the city of Utrecht, is a big draw for camping and caravanning enthusiasts in the Netherlands and neighbouring countries, usually attracting more than 35,000 visitors. The sustainability award will seek to give out prizes for the most sustainable innovations in the camping industry in the Netherlands.

Rachel Jankowsky, of the Kampeer & Caravan Jaarbeurs show, said: “The world around us is constantly changing and sustainability is an increasingly important theme. Sustainable innovations give new energy and contribute to positive changes for the future.”

Meanwhile, Marloes van den Berg, chief sustainability officer of the Jaarbeurs exhibition centre, added: “Sustainability and the movement towards a healthier and more vital future are key. At Jaarbeurs, we not only want to organize our fairs and events as sustainably as possible from an operational point of view, but we also think it is important that we help our customers and partners in all markets in which we are active to boost sustainability through, for example, substantive programmes, activities and, for example, the Kampeer. Sustainability award.”

The Kampeer Sustainability Award is an initiative of Kampeer & Caravan Jaarbeurs (KCJ), the Kampeer & Caravan Industry (KCI) and the Nederlandse Kampeerauto Club (NKC). Participants can compete for this prize in the motorhome product and camping product categories. Both categories concern the best sustainable innovative products, in the broadest sense of the word. From durable accessories and technical innovations to individual parts and durable comfort-enhancing products.
