Eddie Bauer to give away 1,000 campsites for Global Sleep Under the Stars Night

Leading outdoor brand Eddie Bauer is giving away 1,000 free campsites in state parks in the American states of Washington and Oregon as part of the upcoming Sleep Under the Stars Night on 7 August, 2021. The move is part of the company’s mission to make the outdoors more accessible and inclusive for all communities – Global Sleep Under the Stars Night was in fact registered by Eddie Bauer as a national day in 2020 as part of its 100th anniversary celebrations. On its second annual occurrence, through the campsite giveaway, Eddie Bauer hopes to welcome more people into the outdoors and help more people feel included in outdoor experiences by gathering together under the same stars. Covering the costs of campsites is just one small act of the outdoor brand’s accessibility efforts to come.

Eddie Bauer president, Damien Huang, said: “Camping is a quintessential outdoor experience. We want to help facilitate that experience by providing campsites to those in our own backyard who face obstacles—such as lack of transportation or funds to reserve campsites—with the opportunity to sleep under the stars with us on 7 August.

“We hope that this campsite giveaway will eliminate some of those hurdles and help more members of our communities enjoy the incredible outdoor spaces throughout the Pacific Northwest.”

The free campsites will be given away from 1 June via Eddie Bauer’s nonprofit partners and One Outside program leaders.
