Go RVing partners with Black Folks Camp Too

Go RVing – an arm of the RV Industry Association (RVIA) in the United States – has agreed a partnership with Black Folks Camp Too to embark on a new dealer education series to discuss how to market better to black consumers. The three-part series, created in close collaboration with Black Folks Camp Too founder and president Earl Hunter Junior, will focus on entry barriers and how to bridge the gap with these among black consumers.

Much of the education series will take form in the shape of educational videos that address the three major barriers to entry that prevent black consumers becoming RVers – generational fear, lack of knowledge and invitation. It explains why many Black folks aren’t participating in outdoor activities, knowledge gaps that exist within the Black community, and how to reach Black audiences and invite them to be part of the RVing community.

Earl Hunter Jnr said: “I started this company because my son and I won an amazing trip around the country [USA] and while we went to 49 campgrounds in 20 different states, we only saw one black family RVing. That is an issue – but we don’t focus on issues, we focus on opportunities. This series is going to help you, your dealership and all your sales folks out there to get involved, get excited and invite more folks that look like me to enjoy RVing too.”

The video series will be available for dealers who participate in the Go RVing tie-in programme and can also be found on the Go RVing industry portal.
