Knaus Tabbert to strengthen in southern Germany with dealer purchases

German leisure vehicle industry giant Knaus Tabbert has announced an agreement that will see it take over 100 per cent of two leading German leisure vehicle dealers in the south of the country. Knaus Tabbert intends to acquire long-standing distribution partner the WVD Südcaravan group and its two subsidiaries CFC-Camping Freizeit Center GmbH and WVD-Südcaravan GmbH.

Gerd Adamietzki, CSO of Knaus Tabbert AG, said: “The acquisition of the WVD group of companies is a significant addition to our own dealer network in strategically important sales regions in Germany and will make an important contribution to realising the growth potential in the southern region.”

Knaus Tabbert already has strong representation in north and central of Germany with its own dealers in Bönningstedt, Schleswig-Holstein, Maintal and Hesse. The company’s strategy relies on deepening communications with its customer by having its own dealers, so this move will allow the company to do that in the south too.

Who are they?

The WVD Südcaravan group is a long-standing partner of Knaus Tabbert and has more than 40 employees and more than 20,000sqm of sales and service space, making it one of the leading suppliers of caravans, campervans and motorhomes in southern Germany. The company reported an estimated revenues of €20 million in the 2020/21 financial year, the majority of that down to the sales of Knaus Tabbert products. The transaction has no impact on Knaus Tabbert AG's existing earnings forecast for the 2021 financial year. The Management Board of Knaus Tabbert AG expects the business transfer (signing) to take place in December 2021. Both parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.
