New camping trade fair set to take place in Nanjing, China

Nanjing Stuttgart Joint Exhibitions, a subsidiary company of CMT show organiser Messe Stuttgart, is organising a trade fair that it claims will become a new meeting place for caravan and motorhome enthusiasts in China. Set to take place in Nanjing from 24 to 27 June this year, the Camping+ event will be one of the first events allowed in the city since restrictions brought in to tackle the pandemic.

Hans Stoter, managing director of Nanjing Stuttgart Joint Exhibitions, said: “On the theme of 'A better and healthier life begins with Camping+', we will be focusing on camping and caravanning from 24 to 27 June with the brand-new Camping+ fair acting as a special theme for CMT China, which will be held this year from 2 to 4 September.”

According to Hans, the exhibitors come from four core categories of the caravanning industry: motorhomes and camping, outdoor organisers, offers for independent travel by motorhome as well as spare parts, equipment, and accessories. “Our target groups are motorhome enthusiasts and camping fans, and we want to show them the current trends in the Chinese caravanning and leisure industry at the fair,” he said.

The Camping+ show will be held in conjunction with the 15th China International Automobile Expo in Nanjing and will focus on the changing relationship that Chinese consumers have with earthbound travel. Hans added: “Camping and caravanning is still a niche within the various forms of travel here, but the Chinese public have quickly understood and accepted it for holidays. Camping and caravanning, together with motorhome travel, agri-tourism, summer and winter camping had become part of the lifestyle for those who valued green and natural holidays outside the heavily populated cities.”
