New president for Newmar as Matt Miller set to retire

Matt Miller is set to retire as the president of Winnebago Industries-owned RV brand Newmar Corporation after being in the role since 2006. Matt, who first started working with Newmar back in 1991 will step down from his role as president on 3 September 2021 in a planned move. 

Winnebago Industries president and CEO Michael Happe said: “We would like to thank Matt for his incredible leadership at Newmar and for being a valued member of the Winnebago Industries executive leadership team. Matt’s contributions are reflected in his ability to drive an engaged and healthy employee culture resulting in Newmar’s Class A Diesel market share growth and an unmatched reputation for building high-quality, premium RVs. His involvement in RV Industry Association (RVIA) efforts is reflective of his commitment to drive quality, innovation and service inside Newmar and the RV industry.”

During his time at Newmar, Matt was fundamental in the brand’s growth in the RV market and built a strong culture of craftsmanship, continuous improvement and overall excellence. He was also an active member of the RVIA board of directors. He will be replaced as president by Brian Hazelton, who will work alongside Matt for a short period before his departure. Brian was previously senior vice president of Winnebago-brand RVs and is a five-year veteran of Winnebago Industries. 

Michael Happe added: “Brian’s proven motorhome experience, familiarity with the RV industry and commitment to serving dealers and retail customers will prove invaluable as we continue to grow the legacy of building high-quality Newmar products. We look forward to the contributions Brian and the entire Newmar leadership team will drive in the years to come.”

Matt Miller will still be involved with Newmar in a strategic advisory role.
