OLPRO plants more than 300 trees as part of new initiative

British camping equipment firm OLPRO has funded the planting of 320 trees in the first month of a new initiative whereby the company will plant a tree for every new tent or awning it sells throughout 2021. The trees have been planted in Madagascar, Mozambique and Nicaragua and have already helped OLPRO offset 4.71 tonnes of carbon. This initiative was launched as part of the company’s 10th anniversary year and is being conducted in partnership with Ecologi.

Daniel Walton, founder of OLPRO, said: “We're delighted with the start we've had for our tree-planting initiative and we take great pride in every single one of the 320 trees that have already been planted so far. We've always taken every effort to give back to the community and I'd like to think this is a large part of the reason why customers are always happy to buy their outdoor products from OLPRO. It's only natural that as we continue to sell our products to more countries than ever before, we should also take the responsibility of helping to improve the sustainability of our planet. Our ultimate aim is to become a carbon-neutral company that benefits the environment that our customers love so much.”

OLRPO recorded an impressive 98 per cent increase in orders year on year in 2020 and a 49 per cent increase in visitors to its website. It now sells to more than 29 countries worldwide.
