Danish tent and awning brand Outwell has revealed the launch of a new Active Collection of awnings that it says will address the growing demand from a new generation of adventurous campervan owners for low weight, low packed size, performance drive-away awnings.

Comprising three new models, the Active Collection has been designed to match the changing lifestyle trends of a new generation of campers, as well as target those new to the pastime. They are all quick and easy to pitch and provide excellent additional living space on a camping pitch, while offering the option to drive away from the campsite for the day leaving them pitched.

Lakecrest awning

The Lakecrest provides ample living space with a detachable bathtub groundsheet in a surprisingly small footprint. While entry is normally by the front door, wet weather access is via the doors located in the large Link Access Zone

that connects the awning to the side of the vehicle, creating a useful area in which to leave wet, muddy gear before entering the campervan or awning living area.

Woodcrest awning

Not only can the Woodcrest be used at the side of a campervan, but the tall roof is designed to cater for an open tailgate or swing door if used to the rear of the vehicle. Like the Lakecrest, it features large side mesh windows with waterproof curtains to enhance ventilation and large roll-away front opening for panorama view. Roll-away front triangular side wall extensions provide access and protection options. The huge living area has a bathtub style groundsheet that can be removed when a wet area is required, such aswhen storing or working on outdoor gear.

Hillcrest tarp

The Hillcrest tarp quickly and easily attaches to a wind-out awning, or direct to the vehicle, using the supplied poles to provide shade, shelter and privacy. It offers the perfect shelter for lunch breaks or stopovers that do not warrant the use of a full awning. The angle from awning or vehicle can be adjusted and the tarp can be partially or completely rolled up when needed.

All of the Active Collection are made with Outtex 3000 Select polyester that offers superb weather protection, and also benefit from alloy poles, storm web tapes and the Outwell Wind Stabiliser System that provides a correctly secured awning stability in up to force 10 storms. They also all include Outwell’s HookTrack System, guy line retainers and double beading (5mm and 7mm) to secure against the vehicle. Large mesh windows with waterproof curtains help circulate air to reduce condensation.
