RVIA praises industry's accomplishments as 'remarkable' as records tumble

The president and CEO of the United States’ RV Industry Association (RVIA) has described what the industry has achieved in the last year as remarkable as the latest shipment figures continue to smash records. The June 2021 survey of manufacturers carried about by the RVIA determined that total RV shipments for the month ended at 50,706 units – a 25.3 per cent increase on June 2020. It was also the best June on record – seven per cent up on the 47,416 shipments recorded in June 2017.

“It has been remarkable what the industry has accomplished over the past year. From shutdowns to soaring demand in the manufacturing, retail, and campground segments, the RV industry has met these challenges to deliver record shipments, sales, and campground stays,” said RV Industry Association president and CEO Craig Kirby.

These figures mean that the RV industry in the United States has set a new record for shipments in each of the last four quarters, with April to June 2021 setting a new all-time high for any quarter (151,760 units).

Towable RVs, led by conventional travel trailers, ended the month up 22 per cent against last June with 45,689 wholesale shipments. Motorhomes finished the month up 66 per cent compared to the same month last year with 5,017 units.
