Off-season is cancelled thanks to Kampa Dometic

Winter is a quiet time for the camping and caravanning season – after all, it gets pretty cold out there to be staying in a camping unit. But that is a mindset that Kampa Dometic is hoping to change with the launch of its first inflatable winter awning – a product it hopes can continue to increase the surge of interest in camping through into the cold months.

The Winter AIR PVC has been specifically developed to handle the needs of the out-of-season tourer thanks to a super tough Weathershield PVC construction. This weatherproof, long-lasting and easy-to-clean 400g/m2 PVC material is rugged and rated to an impressive –20C, which is more than a match for most winter conditions in Europe and North America. Other features include a patented single-point inflation AirFrame, weather protected ventilation points, snow support poles, storm straps, a draught skirt and a roof lining.

The awning is also incredibly versatile for both motorhomes and caravans thanks to triple beading (4mm, 6mm, and 7mm Keder) that allows it to fit a huge array of caravan awning rails and motorhome cassette awnings. It can comfortably fit a height rang of 235cm to 265cm. There are two versions – the S that is best for caravans and the L that is best for motorhomes.

Kampa Dometic’s Sascha Mokhtar said: “The Kampa Dometic Winter AIR PVC is a high quality, comfortable awning that perfectly meets our winter requirements. It’s easy to set up, extends the living space of our caravan and provides us with an area to store our wet boots, winter coats and ski gear. The materials look and feel very robust and the inflatable frame is extremely durable, the awning kept us comfortable despite the strong costal winds and layers of snow. We can’t wait for our next winter adventure with our awning in Switzerland. We’re hoping for lots of snow.”
