Teleco claims German Innovation Award prize

RV satellite and digital device expert Teleco has been named a winner in the Automotive Technologies category of the German Innovation Awards 2022 for its CLIMA e-VAN. Launched earlier this year, the CLIMA e-VAN is one of the most lightweight and compact roof-mounted air conditioning units on the planet and has struck a chord with the campervan market in a big way. With cutting-edge technology, the CLIMA e-VAN uses R32 gas refrigerant, which has the lowest Global Warming Potential (GWP 675) with a 70 per cent reduction in environmental pollution power, compared to gases that have been used to date.

The CLIMA e-Van is available in two models with different refrigerating powers, both designed for low energy consumption. It is also equipped with a multi-function blue display and LED lights that can be switched on/off via the remote control.

The German Innovation Awards are an annual event organized by the German Design Council, in operation since 1953. It is known as a leading centre of expertise in communication and knowledge transfer within design, branding and innovation.

The jury is made up of independent, interdisciplinary experts from technology, digitalisation, science, associations and institutions. The entries are evaluated based on the criteria: level of innovation, user benefits and efficiency.

Vittorio Similo, co-owner of the Teleco Group, said: “We are honoured to have received this important award acknowledging the design of one of our flagship products. We take care, not only of the quality and reliability of our products, but also of ergonomics, aerodynamics and innovation details. Since its market launch three years ago, e-VAN has been a market leader in performance and technological innovation.”
