Vango to launch sustainability mission

Continuing in its long-standing mission to push sustainability in all that it does, British tent brand Vango is launching a new sustainability mission on World Environment Day, on 5 June this year. The mission will be shared digitally through a series of artistic posters, each highlighting a different sustainability effort the company has undertaken including partnerships with the National Trust and Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, where it funds conservation projects and outdoor kit for those in need.

Rob Birrell, Vango’s marketing director, said: “For over a decade, we have been working towards a more sustainable future.  Our sustainability mission brings all of our efforts together and shares plans for the future, to let our customers and the industry know what we are doing as a business to play our part in preserving the outdoors for future generations.”

Vango has a long record of sustainability efforts as a busines, including its Spares and Repairs product refurbishing service where customers can have their damaged goods fixed or recycled. It’s other major program in sustainability is its recently launched Earth collection or tents, rucksacks, chairs and sleeping bags, which have all been made from fabric made with recycled single-use plastics. In 2021, the Earth Collection will recycle plastic waste equivalent to 1,861,134 500ml plastic bottles and it has plans to expand this to an impressive 8,250,000 plastic bottles in 2022.
