Vango reveals range of camping products made from recycled plastics

British camping brand Vango has revealed it’s launching an entirely new range of tents, sleeping bags, camping chairs and rucksacks made from recycled plastics as it confirms its long-standing commitment to the environment. The Earth Collection has been made using materials that have been 100 per cent recycled and is an extension of Vango’s existing environmental efforts as a company – it is already well known for its upcycling, recycling and repair services.

The Earth Collection of tents comprises 10 different models covering both inflatable AirBeam and poled designs with one key theme: made from recycled single-use plastics. This has been achieved with the creation of a new material by the company, Sentinel Eco Fabric. As well as being made from recycled plastic, this material also offers 3,000mm hydrostatic head, has fully taped seams, offers UPF30+ protection, features ColourLok colour retention and is durable, lightweight and fire retardant. As well as having a much more sustainable manufacturing process, the tents also feature innovative features that Vango is known for, such as Nightfall darkened bedrooms, new mesh doors, Diamond Clear windows, TBS II tension band system, flexible doorstep and clear-access bedrooms.

As well as these impressive tents, Vango has extended the Earth Collection into other camping products too. It has revealed two sleeping bag ranges – the Era and the Evolve – both of which benefit from 100 per cent recycled fabric, filling, shell and lining whilst still offering unrivalled warmth and comfort. It will also launch four different chairs made from recycled materials: the Tellus, Osiris, Aether and Joro. Last but not least are two rucksacks – the Mica 20 and Mica 25 – that smart technology like Vango’s AirMesh Back System as well as functional design tweaks like inner laptop sleeves and useful pockets.

The range is available from Vango now and is expected to be popular thanks to the increased emphasis consumers are placing on ethical and sustainable products.
