The Swedish caravan and motorhome association (HRF) has reported strong growth for the registration of new caravans and motorhomes in the country for May. Caravan registrations are up 31 per cent on the same month last year, while motorhome registrations were up 23 per cent.

These figures have been steadily climbing throughout the year – to date in 2021 there have been 2,074 caravans registered in Sweden, which is up just over 30 per cent compare to the same period in 2020. For motorhomes, 2,390 have been registered in 2021 so far, which is an impressive 80 per cent increase on 2020.

HRF has also reported that interest and sales of used leisure vehicles is also very high in Sweden at the moment, with many dealers reporting that their stock is running low.

Motorhomes are becoming increasingly popular in Sweden and have been on somewhat of a growth trend for the last five years or so. The situation with international travel means that many Swedes are considering camping and caravanning as holiday options. This has led to the growth of businesses such as Sweden’s largest campsite chain First Camp.
