Caravan Industry Association of Australia welcomes new board members

The Caravan Industry Association of Australia (CIAA) has welcomed two new members to its national board after the departure of Mark Lindsay and Nick Hunter. After consideration of more than 40 different candidates the CIAA announced that Kate Meldrum, chief operating officer of Tourism Holdings Australia and Gerard Waldron, director of Track Trailer have joined the board.

CIAA CEO Stuart Lamont said: “Kate brings extensive operational and marketing experience to the national board, while also covering areas of manufacturing, RV rental, and import/export. She also has strong exposure to international happenings and trends through the operations of thl. The board recognised the critical time that the industry is facing at the moment, and the significant opportunities in market with international travel bans and reluctance to cruise, and specifically sought experience which would assist in carefully navigating the way ahead.”

Kate and Gerard join the following members of the national board which represent a great geographical and sectorial mix, as well as comprising representatives from both corporate and small independent operations:

• Grant Wilckens (Chairperson)

• Dennis Austin (Vice-Chair)

• Martin Cotterell (Treasurer)

• Brad Slater

• Donna Cocking

• Chris Goddard

• James Kelly

There will be six positions declared vacant at the 2021 elections to be held in November.
