Knaus Tabbert reports record-breaking revenue

German leisure vehicle expert Knaus Tabbert AG has reported it exceeded €1 billion in revenue during its 2022 fiscal year, the first time in the company’s history that this figure has been attained. The figure represented a 21.7 per cent (€187 million) increase compared to the previous year. (€187 million). A record 29,556 units invoiced across the group compared to 25,922 in the previous fiscal year.

The Knaus group attributes much of this success to the unbroken high demand for leisure vehicles in Germany and has achieved the milestone despite consistent challenges across supply chains. It actually believes that the full sales potential was not realised due to these challenges.

Carolin Schürmann, chief financial officer of Knaus Tabbert AG, said: “We made a clear decision to keep our employees on board and provide them with further training in order to hit the ground running in the final quarter. This strategy was successful. The high utilization of production capacity shown in the fourth quarter and a better product mix will also lead to improved earnings quality in the current fiscal year 2023 with available chassis.”

Wolfgang Speck, CEO of the company, added: “Last year was a year of extremes for Knaus Tabbert. The introduction of no less than four new motorized chassis, a total of even 16 new models for motor homes and camper vans, and an extensive investment program were, on the other hand, repeatedly countered by production interruptions due to significant problems with the reliability of supply chains.

“Record revenues, with an overall slightly lower EBITDA margin than in previous years, reflect the high adaptability of our entire Group to this inefficient start-stop production mode. With the new chassis and increasing stability in the supply chains, the Group is now back on a very good path to renewed strength and higher profitability.”
