CMT promises to cover 'whole spectrum' of RVs

According to a recent study by Germany’s Society for Consumer Research (GfK), almost a quarter of adults in Germany are planning to go on holiday in a caravan or motorhome in the next five years. That stat, combined with the documented boost in sales the caravanning and motorhome industry has seen in Germany since the pandemic, mean that this is a booming industry that simply cannot be ignored. And it certainly won’t be ignored at the upcoming tourism and holiday exhibition CMT. Taking place in Stuttgart from 14 to 22 January 2023, CMT will be showcasing recreational vehicles in no fewer than seven different halls, with more than 1,200 units expected to be on display.

“The demand for motorhomes and caravans is undiminished,” explained Alexander Ege, division director trade fairs and events and the person responsible for the holiday exhibitions of Messe Stuttgart. “As the world's largest consumer show for tourism and leisure, CMT is a wonderful opportunity to obtain information from experts, compare models, personally sit behind the wheel of a vehicle or test a mattress – irrespective of whether you are interested in a motorhome, a van or a camper.”

From exclusive luxury liners, new small caravans, powerful off-road models, and barrier-free trailers through to a wide range of solar technology, air-conditioning systems, and manoeuvring solutions, the industry will present at CMT with its complete range of products and services.

Alexander continued: “The general desire for more individuality and independence is also being clearly reflected in caravanning. There is therefore a clear trend towards camper vans and  box vans. In particular, newcomers attach great importance to suitability for daily use. Nearly every major mobile home manufacturer now offers these compact models, but there are also some new companies which will present their vehicles at CMT. You will also find out at CMT how to turn a family van or a high-roof estate car into a recreational vehicle.”
